Come up and play

The body of the vase is inspired by an 18th century piece of Sevres porcelain.

It is hand coiled and decorated with slips and underglaze colours. The tigers are hand sculpted and the one on the vase is glazes in place, looking down at his brother below and daring him to climb up and play. The tiger on the ground is looking up and can be placed whether you like.

Although serious in form, the essence of this piece is steeped in fun and the joy of playfulness.

It measures 30cms x 22cm
